Our Story

Colour, Craft & a Whole Lot of Heart

Welcome to Colour Cascade Fabrics — a hand-dyed fabric studio born from a deep love of colour and the craft community.

The Maker Behind the Magic

Hi, I'm Tammy — the hands, heart, and (occasionally dye-stained) arms behind every piece of fabric that leaves this studio. What started as a passion for bold, vibrant colour has grown into a boutique fabric brand built for makers who want something truly special to stitch with.

I'm based in Western Australia, and every fabric I create is dyed by hand in small batches — which means no two pieces are ever exactly alike. That's not a bug, it's the whole point.

The Hand-Dyeing Process

Hand-dyeing is part science, part art, and a whole lot of patience. Each fabric begins as a natural fibre base — carefully selected for its ability to absorb colour beautifully. From there, I mix, layer, and apply dyes by hand to create the rich, saturated colour depth that Colour Cascade is known for.

Because every batch is made to order you're not just buying fabric — you're getting a piece that was made with intention, just for you.

  • Small-batch: small runs mean each colourway stays special
  • Hand-dyed: Every piece is touched by human hands, not machines
  • Made with care: Quality checked before it ever reaches you
  • Pre-order friendly: Worth the wait — we promise

For the Craft & Cross-Stitch Community

Colour Cascade Fabrics was built for makers — and we mean that. We're proud members of the stitching community, and you might even spot us at events like the now annual Richmond Stitch Day, where we love connecting with fellow cross stitch lovers in person.

Whether you're stitching a heirloom piece or just want fabric that makes your heart sing when you open the package, we're here for it.

Returning in a New Format

Colour Cascade Fabrics is back — and better than ever. We're relaunching with a fresh range of pre-dyed, hand-dyed fabrics available to pre-order, alongside new colourways and designs that reflect everything we've learned about colour, craft, and community since we started in 2011.

Thank you for being here at the beginning of this new chapter. We can't wait to see what you create.
